11/22/07 Turkey - 12.4#, thawed overnight in sink starting at 2pm Wednesday Marinaded and used entire jar and coated outside used 3 gallons of peanut oil (this is better than the 3.5 gallons) heated oil to 400F and then turned heat down to wait for turkey dropped in turkey first and then turned up heat to max temp went down to about 325F after about 20 minutes, temp reached 350 and I kept it there until the end total time 42 minutes wrapped in foil and in blankets until ready to serve. served after about 20-25 minutes turned out great - one of the best yet. key may have been that I used entire jar of marinade in turkey 1/12/08 Turkey - 12.43, thawed over a few days Marinated with entire jar, tried not to poke through skin anywhere, only did 4 holes used oil from last turkey outside temp 10F - oil was solid heated to 400F dropped in turkey and went to 345F and stayed for about 10 minutes maintained at 350F for remainder
